Countdown to Halloween: Drinks

Now I am not a big drinker and it is not for any real reason except that I do not like the taste of alcohol. I can do vodka mixed with other stuff so I cannot taste it but what is the use of that? Anyways I wish I could list the pumpkin beers or spiked cider or other festive drinks of the season, but I do not like any of them. So I will list some of my favorite seasonal drinks with no alcohol.

Just Like Starbucks Pumpkin Spice absolute fav drink at SB!
Despite not drinking a lot of coffee I really like Pumpkin Spiced Lattes from Starbucks. I feel that everyone and there momma like this but they are so dang tastey!

Sertinos Coffee is a local joint in the Golden Triangle and they serve a Mexican Hot Chocolate that is out of this world! It is steamed milk with Mexican spice chocolate and I wish it was colder in my neck of the woods so I could drink this more.

Hot Apple Cider! I have never made cider but I always get it when someone offers but this recipe looks way too easy to pass up.

I love Tea Forte. I got this for Christmas one year and I have been drinking it like crazy ever since. Plus it helps me when I study, it is a great smooth and calming tea. And it doesn't hurt that the packaging is so darn cute especially if you have the cups to go with it.  I am hoping to find a Autumn Collection like this or I my just break down and order it online.

It is true that all of these recipes can go throughout the whole cold season but it starts now.
What drinks do you devour this season?

Countdown to Halloween: Monsters

Is it strange to have a love for some monsters, when the whole point of them is to scare you? Well this is a list of some of my favorite monsters.

Ahh! Real Monsters
Ok so I am cheating right off the bat and naming 3 in 1 on this with Ickis, Krumm, and Oblina. I loved this show as a little kid, so it is hard for me to be frightened of these guys.

Cookie Monster
Or how about the Cookie Monster? How is he scary? He just wants cookies.

Godzilla!!! :)
Godzilla!! It is not his fault he is so angry. He was a result of a nuclear attack, and as soon as he showed up people started attacking him. If I walked into town and people started shooting at me I might get a little angry too.

Monsters Inc.
If Boo can love these two lovable monsters why can't we all?

Frankenstein's Monster. This is another monster that is not his fault he is so angry. He was given a bad brain and he was made up of a bunch of dead people so you know he is hurting all over. (especially since he was just out of surgery)

What monsters are your favorites?

Visit Pumpkin Patches

The Mister and I went to a pumpkin patch with my step-daddy and Deidre, we had a blast. Now be prepared for a ton of pictures! Oh and the funniest part, we didn't even look at the pumpkins!

Me and Step-Daddy David showing off how adult we are.

The Mister having way too much fun on the slide.

The Mister and I on the hay ride.

Mid-hay ride stop to feed the chickens. They little chickens were so trained, as soon as we pulled up they ran to the fence to eat.

Deidre and I entering the corn maze. (First corn maze I ever went in to!!!)

The Mister 'stalking' me in the maize. (ha see what I did there?)

We made it YAY!

Corn cannon! This thing was awesome! I bounced off the top of the target but The Mister was the only one to actually hit it.

I think we have a new tradition in my family of going here! They have peaches in May as well as berries so I will gladly go back. Not bad for their first year open!!

Did y'all make it to any fun pumpkin patches this year?

Countdown to Halloween: Nails!

For those ladies who work on Halloween and cannot dress up, at least you can dress up your nails!

Easy Halloween nails
For quick easy nails you could always go with these by Sally Hansen. They are available at pharmacies, Wal-Mart, Target and any other store with a make-up / nail section. I have some of these and they work so well! I think I was able to wear them for 2-3 week until my nails grew out too much.

These mummy nails from Nail Polish is Alive are awesome! I have all of the stuff to do this, now I need to get Josh to do my dominate hand.

These are awesome too! They are by Kayla Shevonne, and I would love to try this but I do not have a steady enough hands to do it.

These Frankenstein nails are too cute. They are by nailed.heatherface and if you follow the link she has a video tutorial.

These nails are bloody awesome. (see what I did there lol) If you click HERE or on the picture you will go to the youtube video on how to do this nail art.

Or you could always go with the traditional candycorn nails. I think I may want to do the umbre style with this. These are from Nail-Files from the Basement.

Do you do seasonal nails?

Countdown to Halloween: Make-up

We are getting down to crunch time now and if you do not know what to be for Halloween maybe these make-ups can help you out.

This is my baby brother Matt (by baby he is a Sophomore in high school). Big brother Mark helped him out with this zipper-face make-up. I bet this is on youtube somewhere but I will leave you with this picture.

This Roy Lichtenstein inspired make-up was done by the magicians at Mac. I cannot find the original link but I do know it is a Mac job.

halloween makeup tutorial
This is a CREEPY killer clown and if you click on the image or HERE you can go to the tutorial on how to make this.

Doll Makeup
This picture I found on Flicker and I think it would be amazing for my voodoo doll costume!
(click on picture or here for the flicker it came from)

For the more gruesome looks we have this creepy zombie lady. I love how they did this, it is not as cheesy as some of the others I have seen.

Have you decided what you are going to be for Halloween yet? I think I am going to reuse my voodoo doll costume but have no clue for The Mister.

Countdown to Halloween: Candy

You cannot have Halloween without candy, so here is my list of candies that I loved when I was little. Keep in mind I am not the biggest chocolate fan.

I love Laffy Taffy, especially the banana ones. I think the jokes are so corny and funny. I always traded for these with my brother.

These are not just for the movies, these are great Halloween treats.

Whoppers are so good! I even like the Reese's and Strawberry milkshake kind.

I have a special place in my heart for Tootsie Rolls but my favorite are the Vanilla flavored ones. (when I was a toddler I only Tootsie Roll candies so that was my nickname for the longest time)

Another favorite is the Chewy SweetTarts. I like these over the regulars because they are less chalky, ans who does not like chewy.

Ok so yes this does go against what I said above but I love the rootbeer Bottle Caps.

I rarely get to eat these before The Mister gets them all but I do like some Reese's peanut butter cups.

What candy are you looking forward to the most?
