Wedding Wednesday! - 31 Days to go!!!

My plan was to show you pictures from the Wedding Shower over the weekend but I have not gotten the pictures yet. I barely had my camera with me, but my Aunt decided she would take all the pictures for me and I have not gotten them yet. I am so thankful for her for doing that for me as well as for all the friends and family who showed up to wish us good luck. Well I guess I will just have to tell you what we have planned for the honeymoon.

We are going to take the 'long' 1 hour trip to Galveston for our honeymoon and I cannot wait! We live so close but I cannot tell you the last time I have been there.

The Mister Has never been to Moody Gardens, we have yet to go to the zoo as a couple ( that is in Houston but not too far way) and we are going to spend a week doing things we keep putting off but really want to do. I love the museums in Houston but haven't been in so long. They opened a new pier on Galveston Island and I didn't even know! I have not been over there since before Hurricane Rita in 2005. I want to see how much has changed in the area! I know it was destroyed but it was nothing compared to the great hurricane of 1900. I love the history of the town and the laid back nature of it. I know we will have a blast and we will take tons of pictures.

yay hats
Wait I am wrong I was in Galveston with my MOH May 2007 for a girls day trip. But that is still 6 years ago! (can we please acknowledge how short my hair is in this picture).

Hopefully next week I will have wedding shower pictures for y'all!

Movie Review - ParaNorman

Movie Review title

I figured I would try something new. Yes, I know how many times have I said that and it always falls through. Well I am always watching movies and TV so I figured I could possibly keep up with this. I am starting with a movie we just got in from Netflix... ParaNorman.

This show was seriously cute! But let me tell you what IMDb has to say about it.
"A misunderstood boy takes on ghosts, zombies, and grown-ups to save his town from a centuries old curse." It was also given a 7 out of 10 stars.

The Mister fell asleep while we were watching this show but I thought it was great. I love cartoons, misunderstood /coming of age characters, anything sci-fy so this movie was right up my alley. Neil the little buddy is so funny, and the older brother cracked me up.  He knew his weaknesses and I thought it was so great that he was a homosexual. The dog scene was so funny, I laughed so hard in some parts I woke up The Mister. I really want to talk about all of my favorite parts, but I don't want to ruin the movie. I think the way Norman ended the curse was unexpected but a great way to end the movie. It had its 'scary moments' that I knew it would be a while before The Princess could watch it, but it is a great movie & I will be watching it on Halloween.  It is a family show but it also teaches great lessons.

Even the tagline struck a cord with me : 'You don't become a hero by being normal.'
So what y'all think? Have you seen this movie? Should I continue with this?

I have also been working on the shower host gifts. I cannot believe the shower is this weekend!!! I am so excited! I am going to put thank you notes inside each cup as well as some drink powders or candies. I will have more of an update next Wednesday with the shower pictures and such. Oh and we booked our honeymoon!! We are spending the week in Galveston & Houston! We will go to the zoo, Moody Gardens, museums, and maybe Schlitterbahn.

Tea Party? Don't Mind if I do!

I may have mentioned this before but I LOVE tea! My favorites are sweet (hello southerner!), green tea, earl grey and lady grey. With that being said I have a shameful secret to share 'I have never tried it with milk before' Ugh I feel so much better to have that out in the open. You may ask why are you ashamed of this fact? Well it is not even a good reason but all of my tea sets come with a creamer container so I feel that it goes hand in hand with tea. I have always had mine with sugar and that was it but I went to a tea party this weekend and decided to try my hand at milk and tea.

Untitled
The Mister enjoyed it!

His brother (aka The Mad Hatter) enjoyed it! Untitled
Heck we all did! P.S. how much do you love my silver painted tea set? It was a Christmas gift last year and I LOVE it!!! We had a good time with our little impromptu tea party. What did you do this weekend???

Wedding Wednesday : 45 Days and Counting!

Hey guys I am in full on wedding mode right now. I am also trying to squeeze in school work but the wedding is 45 days away and I have so much to do still. (and my dress is not in yet!!!) Right now I am working on my DIY stuff like this...

Untitled
Ya I am out of the blue string but I think I might switch to my blue baker's twine and red for the heart. I am waiting patiently on my tumblers to come in for me to decorate for my bridal shower planners (all 10 of them!) I am working on my gifts for everyone like my groom, bridesmaids, parents of bride & groom and groomsmen. I am not making all of those but I am making a bunch like the parents I am embroidering them a handkerchief, I am etching beer mugs for the brothers, and I am debating on making my gift to The Mister.
I did find this shirt on Etsy and I think it is just too awesome not to get for The Mister, but I am second guessing myself and I may just make him something but I am not sure yet. What are y'all thoughts?

Untitled
We got The Princess flower girl dress over the weekend and she loves prancing around in it. She said she felt so beautiful like a real princess or a bride. She is seriously just too cute.

So what have y'all been doing? I want to live vicariously through y'all while I am stressed with wedding and school stuff.

Have Y'all Missed Me?

I know...I know I should have been posting more but weather happened. Last week around Wednesday night the rain was CRAZY! We had tornado warnings it was scary outside, Heck this happened!!!!!

Not only did this poor store suffer so did our phone line. The Mister and I are just lucky enough to have this happen to us.

Untitled Untitled Untitled

Lightening struck a tree by our house, traveled down to the roots and found our buried phone line. From there it went straight to our phone box and blew off the door!!! And our plugs were blown out of the wall as well!! Ya it was scary. Oh did I mention the only two things plugged in the wall was our Dish Network box and our router (both blown). Luckily we were safe, we had no fires, and no major damage. Saturday we had  the phone guy come out and fix us up, the phone tower was hit also but only our line was the dead line. We still do not have our cable working so we are watching Netflix and DVDs.  I am so happy to finally be online again and can chat with you guys. I hope you are all safe and sound

How to un-blah a Monday

I am not a fan of Monday mornings at all! The Mister has to pry me out of bed, and I just hate waking up early to get to work. But I think it is time for me to make Mondays a little less miserable.
Idea note_5_01

- I always start off with a big glass of sweet tea. (you could try coffee or hot tea) I guess that is from being from the south.
- I make a quick filling breakfast (today everything bagel with cream cheese and ham)
- I give my mister a huge hug and kiss (which can make any day better)

If this has not put me in a better mood or woken me up I resort to the heavy artillery.

- Play cheerful songs (usually 90's music) and sing to my hearts content on my way to work
- Hot Cocoa as soon as I get to work  (the sugar rush helps and it is so dang tasty!)
- Open up flickr and look at fun times at with my family
- Do a good deed (pay for someone's breakfast in the drive thru or bring in coffee for the guys at work)
- Take a walk outside, fresh air always helps me
- Do some stretches, get those endorphin's working for you.

By this time my day has successfully gotten better! I would love to hear what tips and tricks you have to make your crummy days better.
