Vacation Recap

Just a heads up this post is going to have tons of pictures from my vacation in Gulfport, MS. Speaking of vacations before heading out for a week long vacation it is wise to see what is happening in the town that you will be staying in, for example while we were in town Gulfport was hosting 'Scraping the Coast' which is basically a car show. I love me some car shows but the roads and restaurants were PACKED with people. Well now that I got that cleared up on with the show!

Look how tan 'Little Miss Sassy Pants' is! Ok that was not all from the trip she lives to be outside, she is a sun/water baby if I have ever seen one.

We ate at Shaggy's on the beach and it was AMAZING! I had the seafood pasta and it had the right amount of spice TONS of seafood and I devoured the whole thing! Even the french fries were wonderful, they were crunchy and had crawfish boil seasoning on them(YUMMY). Little miss got a monster cookie for making a happy plate, how cute is that?

The gang decided to let off some road rage on the track so we headed to the go kart racing. Little Miss didn't want to ride so we jumped on the moon bounce and completely missed the Mister being spun out twice, once by Momma C then by Candice(JR). I am so sad I missed out on that one it would have been SO funny!

She was SUPER sassy this weekend, like annoying everyone had to have her way spoiled sassy, but she had her sweet moments like this.

Someone was afraid of this gator so I had to take a picture with it to show Little Miss it was not scary.

We learned it is a little difficult to take under water pictures when you have long hair.

'Canoe' believe it

Okay sorry I know that was horrible, but I had to, puns/word play are my favorite. Seriously we decided to take advantage of our beautiful weather and go for a canoe trip.
Lazy canoeing
Doesn't everybody canoe like this? Let the boys do the work while the ladies prop-up their feet.
100_0408
Or the ladies could turn the other way to face their man. 100_0433
But we mainly like to go for times like this. (sorry if my paleness blinded you, but I did keep my pastiness despite being in the sun for 4-5 hours)

And Back flip contests

And Belly-flop contests (I did not partake in any of the contests)  100_0402
Yummy lunch break! hotdogs, cantaloupe, sausages, cucumbers and chips 100_0398
And finding submerged logs to fight and pose on

Basically we had a sunscreen smothered blast!

24 Before 25 **Update**

Picnik collage

#2 Halfway done organizing my craft room, then I need to window dressings and flooring

#3 Nothing new on this front except we got a coffee table

#5 Done! But I just learned that pumpkin butter is not safe for home canning unless you freeze it. I am so glad I  found out before I did another batch. But we decided that garlic would be worth it so yay!

#6(a). I read Insurgent by Veronica Roth in 3 days. Just finished Diary of a Mad Fat Girl by Stephanie McAfee and it was hilarious! And I am 75% done reading Saving CeeCee Honeycutt by Beth Hoffman and it is a good read, great quotes. I also just finished listening to My Fair Lazy by Jen Lancaster, it was not the best one I have read by her but it was good.

#6(b) I had a pajama party date with the princess the night before her graduation.

#9 Just made curtains for the bedroom to block out the light, the mister does not like natural light like a crazy person.

#13 Pinterest has helped me do this. I will see a recipe that looks good sometimes I will follow the recipe others I will alter it for our tastes.

#18 I am getting better right?

#19 Yes I am doing this and loving it! We went canoeing Memorial weekend and had game night with The Mister's parents & brother. I popped over to see Momma C and The Princess when the Mister was at home with poison ivy so it has been good.

#20 We are working on wedding plans and we decided NOT to do the quicky beach wedding (it leaves too many people out )

#22 Done and she is the sweetest girl ever

#24 It has been a lot better lately. Usually I get sickly on our way to canoeing and this time I did not! We will find out on vacation how well I do it is a 6 hour drive.

Wedding Wednesday - Easygoing my aunt fanny

Okay guys time for some brutal honesty I am having such a hard time planning my wedding! I know what I want but I also do not like to hurt people's feelings (within reason).
As y'all have seen in previous Wedding Wednesday posts I want a county fair wedding that is fun with cotton candy and games and fair food and no flowers, well people are making it not so fun and easy-going on me.

1. The Mister's evil sister-in-law (whom nobody in the family likes besides her hubby) is talking about how White-trash the wedding will be that she may show up in a denim mini skirt (she is all talk but so mean)

2. The Mister's sweet sweet step-mom is upset that I do not want flowers because she ALWAYS does the flowers

3. My birthmother is not allowed at the wedding and cannot know the date because she will not allow my younger siblings to attend if she finds out the date.

4. I cannot invite my birthmother's dad because he lives out of state and he will tell her about the wedding (this one is truly the hardest and saddest decision I have had to make planning this wedding)

5. Money is an issue (even if only in my mind) my parents are in the process of moving(Dad got transferred to a larger sales region) and even though they will not say money is an issue I am assuming it is, mainly because I do not like people to spend money on me. (I refused lunch/gas money from my parents when I was in high school because I had a job I could do it myself)

6. The Mister's birth mom and step-mom, both whom I love, cannot stand each other. As soon as we told his step-mom we were engaged she asked who was sitting in the mother of the groom's seat? I told her we were not having assigned seating.

7. Too many parents! I love my family with all my heart but I cannot say which set of parents mean more to me than the other, without my dad and momma C I don't know where I would be right now and without David who has raised me since I was 4 I would not have had an alley in hard times or met The Mister. I decided to have both dad's walk me down the aisle to give me away and dance with both at the reception.

Now with all of that being said Momma C just asked if I want to get married on the beach during our vacation at the end of this month, none of the drama listed above would happen but I think about my family what is not going on vacation with us and think it will cause much much more drama. What about my cousin who, since we met when my mother married her uncle, have been planning our weddings as each other's MOH's? What about The Mister's parents, his Dad was going to marry us? What about David and Deidre? What about The Mister's Groomsmen? What about the brother's photo plan of being superheros? What about my dream dress? What about the time my brother and my friend eloped without telling anyone, and when we found out by reading it in the newspaper how furious I was and didn't speak to the for months? How could I do that? How could I run off and marry the man I love without the people that we love, let alone the people who introduced us?
NC013524
I know that David and Deidre will be relieved that they will not feel obligated to contribute to the wedding, since they are in the process of building a house. I know that Momma C has made an invitation for Josh's parents to stay in the cabin with us during our vacation to go to the wedding. I know that the brother's can take the picture at the reception when we get home. I am confidant that the groomsmen will not care as long as they still get to throw The Mister a party (I love that the Mister & his friends are nerdy, strippers and wild bachelor parties was never their plan). I know that I can find a dress that I will love and cherish forever, because I am easy like that. And I know that Rachel the MOH would get off of work and drive to where ever she needed to be to be there with me. But I still cannot make up my mind. The Mister who is so loving and sweet wants whatever I want because it is my day, but that does not help me at all!

So what do y'all think? Should I deal with a birthmother who will try to crash my wedding, with two other mother's fighting over a seat, with a sister in law being rude, without my grandpa? Or should I be a hypocrite and elope on the beach with half my parents, half my siblings, none of The Mister's friends or family, without my MOH and deal with the repocusions at the reception party when we get home?

Poison Ivy - An Itchy Outbreak

Well guys I have been MIA because of the cursed plant called Poison Ivy! The Mister was being a sweetheart and decided to chop down some trees in our back yard, then he was cursed by this dastardly plant. From Friday to Sunday we had no sign so we thought we were in the clear. Monday we saw our first glimpse of the itching bubbles on his legs and one arm.
Poison Ivy
I am lucky enough to not be allergic to Poison Ivy. I had no idea what to do when I saw his rash. The Mister had some alcohol and Calamine lotion and we used that but I was on a mission to find more cures. So I made a round of calls to family and friends for cures.

1. Alcohol and Calamine and just let it run its course
(Used this from Mon to Wed)

2. Take a cold bath with a little bleach in the water
(was afraid of getting in a bath would spread it)

3. Clean with alcohol, then soak a rag in  ice cold WHOLE milk and apply that to the rash
(I forgot to by whole milk, but my brother is highly allergic and uses this method religiously)

4. Get a bottle of alcohol pour some out add a whole bottle of campophanique and 15 mash up Advil apply to rash
(didn't try this but I did buy the ingredients for next time)

5. Clean with Dawn dish soap then apply calamine
(We don't use Dawn in our house but he did was with our dish soap too)

6. Try Poison Ivy medicines like Zanfel, Invarest, or Tecnu
(Wed I got some Invarest lotion so he washed, applied alcohol then applied the Inverest. Sat I he switched to Tecnu and the Invarest wash and on Sunday night it was scabbing over)

I do not know what made his rash start to clear up but I am SOO glad that it did my poor man was miserable! Now we are fully stocked for another bout of the Poison Ivy (but I hope it doesn't happen for a LONG LONG time). What kind of remedies do you have for treating Poison Ivy, and are you allergic to the evil plant?
