Adulting: A review

I am still going to do my end of the month book overview but this book was so good I had to dedicate a whole post just to it. I originally read this book because of Kaelah from The Clueless Girl's Guide, she discussed it on her blog (I cannot for the life of me find that post!!).

I cheated and did the audio version of this book and boy do I regret it. I want to hold this book in my hands and highlight important parts that I need to remember. I want to let everyone read it. I want to buy this for my siblings, cousins, friends of the family, strangers, anyone graduating from high school or college, counselors to pass out to students they are helping, just everyone.

The tips range from silly stuff like dealing with the 'walk of shame' to loss to living on your own for the first time. Not all of the tips are mind blowing because you may already know it but some of them I never even thought of. I think that this book should be read by anyone between the ages of 16-25 maybe even a little older. I have already started to make changes to my routine based on this book and I plan on doing even more.

Kelly Williams Brown also has a blog (which I am now following) if you want to know more about her or her tips.

P.S. Have you ever read an educational/ self-help book that you felt everyone else should read, if so what was it?

Time is flying

I cannot believe how fast time seems to be flying lately. I feel like I have no time for anything anymore.

Halloween is 14 days away
Austin Comic-Con is 37 days away
Thanksgiving is 43 days away
My birthday is 52 days away
Christmas is 70 days away

It has been married for 228 days
It has been 2 years and 2 months since I graduated
I have been hunting for a teaching position for 6 months
I have had my current job for 5 years and 3 months

It is so weird to see life accomplishments and events laid out like this. It really make me feel like I have not done much but I still feel like I have done so much. I love to feel my days with family, it may not be a special occasion but it makes a deeper impact on me. I assume you can tell that by my countdown dates, each one is a family event...true most are holidays but that is when I get to see my WHOLE family. It can be stressful driving all over to see everyone but it is more than worth it for the memories.

Sorry if this post seems to be all over the place but that is how I am feeling today.

Da Hubby is no longer effected by my faces.

Hat's off to graduates

I cannot believe that my sister is graduating from high school, TOMORROW! It feels like just yesterday she was calling me 'Ka because she could not pronounce my name. Now she just does it when she is trying to be sweet.
La-La before she turned evil

Just look at that precious little girl up there. She is now driving, finished with high school, working, and becoming a proper adult.

I am not ready for her to be an adult yet. But at least I still have Matt (16) and Blake (5) to be kids a while longer.

I bet I can still get her to do this kind of stuff though - that only cost me 1 dollar.

Congratulations to all graduates and my LaLa!!
