Fishing, Painting, Playing, Eating, Life

I have been lazy with blogging lately - I wasn't a fan of the journal prompts or I didn't have good answers and I haven't really had anything to talk about but here is what I have been up to lately.

Please tell my I am not the only one LOVING Taco Bell's breakfast. Yumm AM Crunch Wrap

Watching these grown "men" (AKA Da'Hubby and his brother) play bumper cars with my nephew

Yes I caught that fish but it fell off the hook on to the ground and I was afraid to pick up the floppy fish so my step-daddy did it for me.

Spying on my step-daddy's mean geese after fishing

Step-Daddy's ducks are growing - this is Donald

Sharing Choco-Tacos with my sister - Well I just ate ice cream

Holding my sister's puppy who is worn out from playing all day at a crawfish boil

Painted my carrot box - in case I forgot what I planed in there

DaHubby's reaction to me saying I need to take a picture to sent to my daddy so he knows to try Mutt & Jeff's (the restaurant we are at). I think he didn't like me making him wait to take a bite until after the picture was done.

Got a new mug at work - I may not be the boss in the office but I am still the best boss of ME! mug c/o Quill.com for me using Dunder-Mifflin products at work

What have you been up to? I would love links to go see.

Beard Lovin'

This weekend Da'Hubby and I went to Larry's Old Time Trade Days, which is like a giant garage sale or something like that. I have mentioned it before and I love going! This time we were hunting for a glider swing  for our front porch but we found something much cooler! We met this guy!

Picture kidnapped from Texas Beard Company Facebook Page

This is me, Da'hubby, and on the end  Ryan one of the owners Texas Beard Company. If you you are a beard-lover or know a beard-lover you need to go to his site and check out the great stuff that he makes.

This is what we got Da'Hubby.  Mint Eucalyptus Beard Balm (this stuff smells amazing) and thrown into the amazing printed bag was the printed oil rag, a sticker and business card. All of the stuff minus the business cards were all made by the 4 guys running the company. I stalked Ryan a bit on instagram and facebook to show my love to the company and they did the shirts and rags in their garage with a silk screen. I am talking hardcore DIY guys here and I love it!  At this point I think I should mention that this is not a sponsored post, we paid for the balm out of our pocket (Okay, Da' Hubby's wallet but still) and we will buy more in the future. This is just a honest review of an indie Texas born company that I am genuinely impressed with.

They have 3 scents (on their site):
•Mint Eucalyptus - Smells incredible, it has just the right amount of mint to wake you up in the morning or if put in at night will keep your sinuses clear. (good for snorers - from me not the company)
•Tumbleweed - non-scented if you are worried about not liking the smells, or unsure of what scent your beard-lover would like.
•Clove Citrus - This one was not my cup of tea since I am not a HUGE clove fan, the citrus hints were nice but I do not think I would enjoy snuggling up to my man's beard with the clove in it. (personal preference but if you like cloves and citrus you will love this smell)

Da'Hubby prefers balm over the oils just because he is not a fan of the way the oil it feels in his beard but the balm is amazing. His beard is already feeling softer, and he says it is easier to tame too. We have tried leave-in conditioner (MY Sleek and Smooth Garnier Leave in conditioner) and it works good but it smells girly, and we have not been able to find anything designated for beards without looking online. I have seen Blue Beards on Amazon and the countless ones on Etsy but being able to actually smell it before I bought it was a big plus for me. And not only that, we were able to see the beards of the guys who make the stuff and were able to see first hand what it can do for Da'Hubby's beard.  Basically I am so happy with this brand and their product and I cannot wait to buy more and support their growth.

Oh and to switch topics real quick - here is the swing Da' Hubby got me!

It is a double glider from M&D Supply and I love it!!! I like to try things out before I buy and sadly the ones at Larry's Trade Days were either not comfortable, unable to try out, or WAY out of our price range.

Do you have any indie brands that you love? I would gladly go check them out!

To: The Most Wonderful Man

Today is Da'Hubby's birthday. I am so happy that he is in my life and I am able to share this with him. He really didn't celebrate his birthday growing up so I always try to make it super special. This year we were going to have a bowling party but life got in the way but we are going to be celebrating it all week long.

This morning I attacked him with silly string and gave him his first present, Magic the Gathering Fat Pack for the new set that was just released, and tonight he is getting his DVDs I got him.

I feel that it is important to celebrate the birth of the one's you love and I love to spoil him so it is super easy.

Happy Birthday my sweet man!!!

Currently

Reading: Adulting by Kelly Williams Brown , Hollow City by Ransom Riggs

Wondering:  If I am going to find a teaching job or if I need to break down and student teach for 6 months with no pay.

Thankful:   For my husband and my wonderful family and support system. With all that has happened the past few weeks I am so happy I have amazing people I can depend on.

Eating: Chicken Fajitas with some delicious guacamole

Watching: Olympics. I love the figure skating and the snowboarders

Working On:   Studying for Special Education TExES test, organizing my house, a blanket that I will probably never finish

Loving:  Guacamole and forest creatures. I have my office desk decorated with owls, hedgehogs, and foxes. I feel like I need some squirrels too.

Attempting:  Workout on the regular, I have been wanting to tone up my arms a bit, my shirts are getting tight and with my naturally broad shoulders it is difficult to find cute shirts that fit my arms/shoulders right now.

Wanting:   Da'Hubby's gifts to arrive. I got him the LootCrate and I am so excited to see what he gets. I am so bad about getting too excited and ruining the gift by giving it to him early or dropping too many hints but this way I know nothing and it is killing me.

What are y'all currently up to?

Christmas Crafting

I cannot believe Christmas is just around the corner! (and that I forgot to do any Thanksgiving posts)
I have been working on making presents lately and I am SOOO excited about them.

Ausin Wizard World Com Con
This is from paint night with my niece. Her painting below blew me out of the water.

Brooke's amazing Art
Can you believe that crap. She was looking at a tiny picture on my tablet and busted this bad boy out. All free hand and that is acrylic paint not water paint.

UntitledUntitled
But I made this MASSIVE D20 for my step-dad for his birthday.  I think it is safe to assume he has the biggest one in the family - the one in his other hand was his 'big' die before he got his present.

Untitled
I also made this Dapper T. Rex (Theodore Rex III to be exact) for my sister. She has a bit of a dino obsession. This makes me so happy I was attacking Da'Hubby with Theodore.

Untitled
I may have shown this one off, at least I think I did on insta. This is an Owl bracelet I made for my brother's sweet girlfriend. She has an owl obsession but who could blame her.

Untitled
This is another one I may have shown, this is my 'Mirror, Mirror on the desk who is the best?' gift for my niece. She loves all things Disney.
Disclaimer: I know that is the wrong face in the mirror but, this face is more memorable than the usual man in the mirror.

Lastly some messy holiday nails.
Untitled
I took this while it was still wet and I had not cleaned them up yet, I forgot to take a clean picture before I cleaned them off for birthday nails.

So are you doing any fun holiday crafts?
