Adventures in canning

For graduation I got a canning set from my lovely Josh, and from my Step-dad and Deidre got me a few cases of jars. I have been taking full advantage of this and have been canning up a storm during the weekends. This week we canned all of this.

That is Dilly Beans, Salsa, Zucchini Relish, and Apple Butter. Well the apple butter was still cooling when this picture was taken but, that is what I have made thus far. I am on a hunt for more recipes like Pickled Habanero Garlic, Spicy Okra, and more. I am not a big fan of jellies but once my satsumas ripen I will be making jelly or marmalade. I enjoy canning so much!!!

I even stuck Josh in the corner to help me out peeling and coring the apples. It was not torture he enjoyed himself, and was out of the kitchen so I could handle the tomatoes.

  1. GAH! I love canning! I am going to can SO MUCH MORE! ha. This is so cool. It's neat to see other people getting into it too! I mean my first canning venture was Sunday, but I loved it and can't wait to do more!
