3. Squirrels if you saw my posts from this time last year you know I am in love with squirrels! Near the end of summer when it cools down and in the fall the cute little boogers come out and I love it!!

HAIR RUT! Pt. 2

So I talked to y'all last week about my hair rut, well Friday I got my hair cut!!! Well I got bangs!



As you can see it is not completely trained yet but it is better today than it was yesterday. I am super happy with my new bangs! My hairdresser is trying to convince me to dye it a lighter color but I am so afraid it won't look right on me. I have only gone darker or red-ish, my dad is a red-head, so I know it works with my skin tone. What do y'all think? Should I go lighter? I know if it looks bad I can always change it back. It is silly I am not afraid to chop off all of my hair because it grows back, but dying it scares me.



I have had super short hair many times, but the first time I colored it was not until I was out of high school! And it wasn't even a full dye, but low lights that were only a few shades darker!!! I am such a scaredy-cat. Well I will let y'all know if I decide to do something more drastic with my hair but until than I am super pleased with my current do!

Adventures in canning

For graduation I got a canning set from my lovely Josh, and from my Step-dad and Deidre got me a few cases of jars. I have been taking full advantage of this and have been canning up a storm during the weekends. This week we canned all of this.

That is Dilly Beans, Salsa, Zucchini Relish, and Apple Butter. Well the apple butter was still cooling when this picture was taken but, that is what I have made thus far. I am on a hunt for more recipes like Pickled Habanero Garlic, Spicy Okra, and more. I am not a big fan of jellies but once my satsumas ripen I will be making jelly or marmalade. I enjoy canning so much!!!

I even stuck Josh in the corner to help me out peeling and coring the apples. It was not torture he enjoyed himself, and was out of the kitchen so I could handle the tomatoes.

Update time!

I have been away this week because of two reasons.

Yes I just graduated! I have been done with school since the end of May, but August 13th was the graduation ceremony. It was odd being out of school then showing up to graduate. I am glad it is over! I still have to go get my teaching certificate but my degree is done, and I cannot be more excited.
After that I became absorbed in this book.

HAIR RUT!

I am stuck in a rut!



See that hair. Yes that is how I fix my hair 98% of the time 1.5% it is in a ponytail and .5% is down. If my hair is down, it tickles so I put it up in my messy bun. I have tried the Sock Bun Curls but once again it tickled and I pulled it up. I am trying to get better about leaving it down, but all through high school I had short hair(much like this).

That is the picture I would take into my stylist. I loved it but I hated the whole it is growing out awkward stage that happens when your hair is that short. I did love it though, I want it back but I think instead I might do bangs so this is where I need your help.

Heat exhausted!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the summer! I am always cold so the summer is perfect for me! I love being able to wear cute summer dresses, catching fire flies, sitting on the porch drinking sweet tea, and swimming. All of that being said, I think it is time for it to be fall already. This past weekend it was over 100 degrees before noon! Needless to say we did not make it to Winnie Trade Days last weekend, but we did make our crafting store rounds and Target. I love having the sun on my skin but, I do not want the sun burning as soon as I step outside. I am so ready for the fall, I get to drink hot tea, hot cocoa, decorate for the fall holidays, sit by the fire, dress in thick tights and boots, and cozy sweaters.



I love how this house always decorates in such a BIG way. I cannot wait until I can get to do this (in a smaller version, at least).

Graduation!

So as you may know I am finished with school, my last class was in May. My graduation ceremony is August 13th. YES! This Saturday! I am so happy to be done with school, well partially. I still need my teaching certificate, but I have graduated! My party was last weekend, I forgot to take pictures but it was great! We had my uncle, with his band playing tropical music. We had hot dog, sausages, homemade chili and all sorts of chips & dips. It was really neat and tropical. I wish I would have not gotten sick, but I got better when some people started to leave.

AHHHH! I didn't mean to get off topic. What I was getting at is what my wonderful man got me for graduation. A canning set!

I am so excited! I have found that I really like canning from helping out my step-dad, I cannot wait till next weekend to start some canning by myself. I am planning on doing salsa, pumpkin butter, apple butter, and so much more!

Vacation Pictures

As promised I have pictures from my latest vacation.

Yes we went to the Frio again. It was so much fun!!

I love swings, and they still have the swing in the tree. It was a little less stable this year I felt like I was going to break the tree it was on (but that didn't stop me)!

And hanging out in Garner State Park. They have nightly dances on the weekend & it was super fun! I even got to see my neighbor they were leaving the same weekend we got there.

We even played a little Bocce Ball.
