Pin-xperiment Christmas Nails

Pin-xperiment
I am loving the holiday nails I am finding on pinterest. I decided to try my hand at one.

The Pin
Untitled

I used a different glitter polish, because I like a colorful tree. I did mess up a bit. I think I will try it again later in the season. (or maybe I can have The Mister do the taping part.)

In case you missed the last Pin-xperiment post here is my rating system:
Grading :

♥♥ - Needs some tweaking
♥♥♥ - Pretty good
♥♥♥♥ - Will have to do more often

♥♥♥- I like the idea but I think I need help to achieve it myself.

Countdown to Halloween: Crafts!

Untitled

Not everyone wants to get messy and cut up a pumpkin, or they have littles who cannot carve them for safety reasons. These are some crafts to do when you are in the holiday spirit and don't want to mess with a pumpkin.

Pasta Skeletons
Like always Mrs. Martha Stewart have these pasta skeletons, plus is doesn't hurt when you can teach with your crafts.

These are just the cutest! I love footprint and fingerprint are for little kids. I think it is precious and a good thing for them to see when they are grown.

Cute Halloween Crafts
Or you could even decorate your own candy bag!! This is just too cool and what kid would not be happy to say they made their own candy monster!

fun halloween crafts.
I love this and it would be so cute in classes on the Halloween or costume day on the back of the chairs for candy.  Oh and if you follow the link you will get directions and supply list

This little bat from Katie's Nesting Spot is just too cute! I want to run over to my parents house now to make this with The Little.

What kid crafts have y'all been up to? Sadly I have not done much but I hope that will change soon!

Pin-xperiment Breakfast

Pin-xperiment
Pinterest is a great place to find recipes or better ways to cook things. This Pin-xperiment was a new better way to cook breakfast.

Pinterest Breakfast

O yes I believe this is the way I will make cinnamon rolls for ever! This is so much faster to make them and so tastey! Plus you don't have to worry about the icing melting off an on the the plate. The squares keep the yummy icing on the roll.

Pam Cooking Spray As Polish Setter

Results:
hombre nails

I like the results a lot! I think that I am going to do a better color combination next time. The Mister said it looked like I had dirty nails, maybe peach and pink or turquoise and blue?
Pam as a nail setter is my new bff seriously! I have the instant dry top coat and it still takes 1-2 minutes but it will still wrinkle the polish, with Pam I do not have that problem at all!

Wedding Wednesday

What are the rules for engagement pictures anyway? I have heard it doesn't really matter when you take them as long as it is before the wedding. The Mister and I have not taken ours yet but I am on the look out for some great ideas.

I am completely fasinated with this picture. I love the whole laying on the ground but making it look like you are standing pictures. (the sleep babies at http://milasdaydreams.blogspot.com/)

Seriously I love sidewalk chalk (I am such a kid at heart)
Source: goo.gl via Jessica on Pinterest

I cannot get enough of chalk

The fair was a few months ago so I am not sure if we can do this, but I am keeping my eye out for the little mall carnivals to see if we can get this great slide picture!

I may convince the Mister to go to the park to take pictures. I know he won't mind because we always take the little to the park and have a blast!

How cute is this? I love the movement and way his legs frame her!

Bubbles!! Are you serious? I adore bubbles, heck I am always packing (bubbles that is). This would be awesome!

What are y'all's thoughts on engagement photos? Get them done as soon as it happens or wait and do engagement / save the dates all at once?

P.S. Have y'all noticed that more and more on pinterest the pictures are uploaded by user and there is not source site? It is a little frustrating not being able to site my sources, so if you happen to know any of the sources let me know I will gladly update it.

Wedding Wednesday

So I know I mentioned this in the last Wedding Wednesday post but I am having a County Fair style wedding and reception. Luck for me some other people have had carnival and fair weddings and parties so I have found some great inspiration.
This site had some great ideas. I doubt we are going to have any rides at our reception because come on it is a bit much (in my opinion) . But we are going to have some activities besides dancing (because I would rather play washers than two-step)
Frosted Weddings Vintage Carnival Wedding
This is a mash up of a few different events but I do like the bow tie, the photo op accessories, the fabric flowers on the bottom left and the wooden signage (but I doubt I will put hoedown since I already have nay-sayers dissing my wedding plans IRL, I do not want to add to the list of stuff they can trash talk on)Sorry about that but you should never tell a bride to be her plans are tacky and she would be better of going to the Justice of the Peace to get married
colorful country fair wedding
This couples wedding is AMAZING and pretty dang close to what I have in mind for my wedding. I love the laid back feel, the decorations, it being outdoors, pretty much all of it (minus flowers and cake)
I wish I could find a venue like theirs' but so far I have had not luck on a barn hunt but I may have found the next best thing(fingers crossed).

I know there are so many more beautiful weddings out there but I am going to stop here so I can have future posts.

Wedding Wednesday

Did you believe me last week about this post? If so I am proud, and surprised.

Anywhoo this week is all about my lack of cake love  preference of other desserts over cake. I love the look of cake, heck I use to want to be a baker, I just like fruity desserts more. I can devour pies, cobbles and tarts but one bite of cake and I am done (I have no clue why). So instead of having a bride's cake and a groom's cake we are having pie bar and a groom's cake (since The Mister's aunt usually makes one as a gift).
These are so cute and good for little hands (which we will have a lot of) but I can see these being a hassle if we bake them instead of ordering

Mini Pie Table
I like this idea, no uneven cut pies or half eaten pies to take home. Instead guest can bring some home with them or we can stack them in the freezer for a quick dessert later on.
Pinned Image
This one reminds me of a bake off like at a county fair (which is my theme)

Pie Bar instead of Brides cake
I really like how this one is labeled and hello Buttermilk Pie YUM!

As you can tell I am set on my pie table for the wedding but I have seen some gorgeous wedding cakes (even though I like the nerdy ones the best) and I may do a quick run down next time.

Did you have a traditional wedding cake or did you go for something different?

p.s. Oh and we will have whip cream pie to smash in each other's faces (or the MOH and Best Man)

Sunshine & Lollipops

This weekend was a LOOOONG and eventful one. Friday we went out to eat at Outback (WOOHOO gift cards!) and then we went to see Star Wars in 3D. It was awesome! I love me some Star Wars and it works in 3D granted it wasn't filmed for 3D but it still worked.

Saturday we slept in then went to the Mardi Gras parade grounds at 2 to hang out before walking in the parade at 5. It was SOOOO cold and windy. I have wind burn on my cheeks a little bit from it. I cannot wait to do it again next year. It was a blast. I was worried about my anxiety and getting sick but it wasn't too bad. I was a little sickly but when we started walking and tossing beads/confetti it was fun & I wasn't sickly any more. (Score 1 Jessica / Anxiety 0)

Sunday we slept in again. (Sat. we went to bed at 8 we were exhausted ) Went shopping, made a carrot cake for the Mister & when to my parents for the Mister's birthday dinner.

Ok so I know it is on the wrong hand the Mister wasn't sure, after some Googling we figured it out. But YES the Mister proposed!!! Last night it was the end of his birthday week and he ask if I would give him one last gift as we were getting ready for bed. I had a confused look on my face because I was tired and was not expecting it, then he handed me a diamond ring pop and I was so excited! I said yes of course and then he gave me this antique ring and it fits perfect! The ring is so pretty and old like me, (ok I am not old I just like old things) the Mister calls me an old lady all the time and this fits me and my personality perfectly! I cannot tell you how happy this makes me but I am.  Now I can justify my giant pinboard of wedding ideas on pinterest!!

Halloween Treats

Now I know you are thinking... What are you doing making Halloween treats when you should be getting your house presentable? Well, first off nothing is more important than making snacks with my baby sister. And, secondly.....OKAY I have no response to that. I know I need to work on the living room and get some pictures up here for you but I haven't had time. I have been home before 8 pm only one night this week and I did work on the room that night a bit. So there :P

Any who Little Miss had show -n- tell today, and when it is your day for show-n-tell you are suppose to bring snacks. Seeing how it is so close to Halloween and she just decorated pumpkins with my brother she wanted to make pumpkins. I have been seeing this floating around the interwebs so I knew it would be perfect!

and ours look like...

image

The other ones may look a little fancier, but we had a blast making them! Little Miss was sneaking the mini Reeces and the icing with the Mister. I even got proof of the icing theft.

image

We had her sticking her tongue out all night as is was getting darker the more icing she ate.

Any who ya'll have a great day! And I promise I will get you the living room pictures soon.

Yummy Chicken Recipe!

As soon as I finished my last post I did another quick search in Pinterest & found it fast. If it was a snake it would have bit me...well no because the screen would stop it and if it was on the screen it would just be a video or picture. Ah ok sorry got lost on a tangent there. So the recipe:

Baked Parmesan Garlic Chicken
Ingredients:
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 package Good Seasons Italian Dressing mix  (I used the off brand & it was still good)
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
6 boneless skinless chicken breast halves (I used 3 whole breasts and that was perfect)
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
2. Mix cheese, dressing mix and garlic powder.
3. Moisten chicken breasts with water; coat with cheese mixture. Place in shallow baking dish.
4. Bake 20 to 25 min. or until chicken is no longer pink in the center.
image

This is how we had ours but, we decided that it would be best on topped with marinara with some pasta on the side. Basically it is Chicken Parmesan and so tastey. It was great the way we had it too.
I highly recommend this recipe, and looking in Pinterest for more recipes. I would also like to thank momswhothink.com for posting this recipe.
